3v3 Invincible Fighting Game Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Skybound Entertainment’s in-development Invincible fighting game was shown today at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. It’s called InvincibleVS, and it’s a 3v3 tag fighting game featuring characters fans of the comics and animated series will be familiar with, including Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Thula, AtomEve, and Bulletproof.

Expect a launch in 2026 across Xbox Series X and S with Xbox Play Anywhere, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Here’s the official blurb:

Based on Skybound’s acclaimed comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley – which had a 15-year run at Image Comics and a historic 146 issues – Invincible VS delivers a one-of-a-kind blend of superhero spectacle and brutal combat. Players will harness explosive powers and unleash bone-breaking combos through fast tag-team mechanics and strategic defensive play. With every vicious Super and Ultimate move, players will deal more damage to their opponents and leave the arenas in a mess of blood.

“I have said this before, and I’ll say it again: this is the most excited I’ve been about anything involving Invincible,” said Kirkman. “Invincible VS is crazy fun, fast, ferocious and dripping with the same over-the-top brutality that you’ll see in the comic book pages and on the show. It is a natural evolution of the franchise and it is everything that fans have been demanding for over a decade! This is without a doubt, probably the best superhero fighting game in the universe!”

Invincible VS will offer players a variety of dynamic game modes that raise the stakes with every battle. Whether diving into a captivating single player story, climbing the ranks in a competitive and casual multiplayer Versus mode, unlocking character arcs in Arcade or mastering devastating combos in Training, players will experience unparalleled heroic brutality, where every earth-shattering blow will leave them feeling… Invincible.

“As huge fans of the franchise, it was an honor to work with Robert, as well as the comic book and TV series teams, to create the most authentic Invincible experience for players,” said Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS. “In Invincible VS, every move, every line of dialogue, every broken limb and bloodied mouth carries real cost and consequence – all building toward the bone-deep satisfaction of victory. No tag fighting game has ever delivered this level of intensity and violence. This game is a love letter to the fighting game community, created by a team of passionate, experienced fans of the genre.”

We first heard about InvincibleVS last year, when Skybound Entertainment announced a crowdfunding campaign to fund its development. At the time, we learned it would be created by an internal 30-person studio at Skybound made up of industry veterans from studios such as Activision Blizzard, EA, and Epic Games. If this game is anywhere near as good as the TV series, now in its third season, there’s a lot to be excited about.
