Avengers: Doomsday Set Leak Photos Show the Avengers, New Avengers and Fantastic Four Teaming Up for the First Time

What happens when Falcon, The Thing and US Agent walk onto a spaceship? Well, you get a big leak from the set of Avengers: Doomsday, for one.

Photos showing three members of the upcoming blockbuster’s cast together on set in costume have been posted online, and shared on X/Twitter by MCUnewsrumors. And while the images depict a set mostly surrounded by a bluescreen backdrop, this is still our first look at three major superhero teams interacting.

The images show Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon from Sam Wilson’s new Avengers team, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent from the Thunderbolts/actual “New Avengers”, plus Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm/The Thing of The Fantastic Four.

Of course, all three of these actors were previously announced by Marvel as being in Avengers: Doomsday, and of course the fan expectation has been that we will see the film’s various heroes in a grand team-up against Doctor Doom (with numerous members of the Fox universe X-Men also included, too).

Still, it is remarkable to see these characters together, especially considering the fact that Thunderbolts/The New Avengers ends with the suggestion of conflict between its new team and the hero squad that Sam Wilson’s Captain America says he’s setting up at the end of Captain America: Brave New World. Seemingly, then, that rivalry gets sorted out quickly.

So too with The Fantastic Four, who are expected to be consigned to their own, separate reality for much of their upcoming debut film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Though, as fans will know, Thunderbolts/The New Avengers already teased the quartet’s arrival in the main MCU universe via a post-credits scene.

Ultimately, then, while these characters may not be Marvel’s biggest stars, fans are excited to see representatives for three of the film’s big teams interact, on a set that looks like the bridge of a spaceship.

Is this the Fantastic Four’s spacecraft, with the Avengers and New Avengers onboard for a pow-wow? There’s a retro feel to some of the consoles and screens we can see. Falcon looks to be fully recovered from his injuries at the end of Brave New World. US Agent now sports a black beret. And The Thing… well, Moss-Bachrach is in a mocap suit, and there’s not much more to say about that.

Of course, fans have plenty of theories to this scene’s context. Based on previous rumors of the Avengers Doomsday plot, many believe we’re seeing a trio of characters left behind to defend Earth while some of the MCU’s bigger stars pop over to the X-Men’s dimension, ready for the big battle at the X-Mansion seen in the film’s earlier leaks.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently being filmed in the UK, ahead of its eventual launch in on December 18, 2026. Other production images that have leaked out have suggested we’ll see more of a key location from Thunderbolts/New Avengers, while a separate set is surprisingly named after a member of The Defenders.
