LEGO Reveals a Massive New Batman: Arkham Asylum Set With 16 Minifigures

LEGO has announced a new set based on Batman Arkham Asylum. It’s a sizable set, with 2,953 pieces, and comes with 16 minifigures, including Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, and more. The set will cost $299.99 and will release September 9. You can preorder it now at the LEGO Store.

LEGO Batman Arkham Asylum is an impressive model of Gotham’s infamous psychiatric hospital. It’s a big and detailed model that splits into three segments, the first floor, second floor, and roof. It has removable elements that let you access the interior, which has numerous interactive features and 65 stickers referencing Batman lore.

The 16 minifigures are a main attraction, with Batman, Robin, and more superhero protagonists, and even more villains, including Mr. Freeze, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, and many more. You can find the full list below.

Minifigures Included in LEGO Batman Arkham Asylum

  • Batman
  • Batwoman
  • Batwing
  • Robin
  • Mr. Freeze
  • The Riddler
  • Poison Ivy
  • Catwoman
  • Scarecrow
  • Harley Quinn
  • Bane
  • The Joker
  • The Penguin
  • Killer Croc
  • 2 security guards

In addition to being a cool-looking DC Comics set, LEGO Batman Arkham Asylum is also an advent calendar of sorts. You can assemble it all at once, or you can treat it as a 24-day project that you piece together over time. LEGO hasn’t been super clear on how this works, exactly, but I imagine the set comes in 24 bags, with the minifigures distributed throughout.

There are plenty of other LEGO Batman sets, but it’s one of the more impressive ones in recent memory. LEGO has mined deep into the many incarnations of the superhero, with sets based on everything from the 1966 Batman TV series to Batman: The Animated Series and the Nolan trilogy.
