The Toxic Avenger Unrated Cut’s ‘Monster Dong’ Leaks Online — and Now It’s Coming to Theaters

Fans have been waiting years at this point for Macon Blair’s Toxic Avenger reboot film to finally hit theaters — and they’re getting what they deserve in just a couple short weeks. However, it seems as though some leaks, no pun intended, have already hit the internet… and horror editorial outlet Bloody Disgusting has come out and confirmed it, giving fans a real taste of exactly how unrated the cut coming to theaters will be.

This week, a redditor on r/LeaksAndRumors posted an image directly from the film with the caption, “Friend at Cineverse hosted some people and showed us some clips from the new Toxic Avenger, which is a reboot of the 1984 film. Snapped an epic pic.” The image showed Toxie himself, played by Peter Dinklage, in a compromising position in order to get out of a sticky scenario, which includes him showing off his most private appendage.

According to Bloody Disgusting’s post about the leak, “Toxie finds himself in a unique situation where the only way to escape is to weaponize his radioactive urine and, well, piss himself out of the troubling mess. Toxie unzips and fully reveals his Monster Dong in the Unrated version of the movie, and since the moment has started leaking across Reddit and other platforms, we thought we’d spill the beans and just come right out and say it.”

The outlet, which is owned by distribution and production house Cineverse, went on to share a quote from Cineverse’s VP of network strategy, Tom Owens, who also founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001 with Brad Miska.

“Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 both made theaters nervous too, but that worked out pretty well for everyone. We gave Damien Leone full creative freedom to do whatever he wanted with those movies, and we feel the same way about Macon Blair and The Toxic Avenger,” he said in a statement. “If we weren’t going to release the full Unrated cut, then it didn’t make sense to release the movie at all. Some studios fear pushing the limits. We welcome it and by giving filmmakers true creative freedom, we ensure their work reaches audiences in its purest, most uncompromised form.”

This leak comes just a few months after the film itself shared via social media that the movie would play theaters with an unrated cut. They shared an image of Elijah Wood’s villain character Fritz Harbinger with an “unrated” tag on top of it that promises “ultra violent/toxic content, piss play, mutant nudity, and gnarly theater fun.” Now fans know exactly where the piss play is coming from.

The Toxic Avenger premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2023 and then languished in obscurity for about two years despite a wild and enthusiastic reception at the festival due to it being allegedly “unreleasable,” even in its R-rated cut. Cineverse finally picked up the film and fans will be able to see it when it hits theaters later this month — despite the fact that the nature of the unrated cut, which has never been screened for the public before, is making some exhibitors a bit uneasy.

The Toxic Avenger arrives in theaters nationwide on August 29, 2025.
