Epic 4-Hour Cut of Kill Bill Gets New Trailer, a Nationwide Theatrical Release, and a Fortnite Collaboration

Major movie news incoming: Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill is going to finally be released as one film, and the new version, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, now has a brand spanking new trailer.

The Whole Bloody Affair reframes the films, originally released as Volume 1 and Volume 2, as one mega epic — which is how Tarantino originally envisioned the story and how he originally wanted it released. The new version of the films promises to be unrated and uncut, and will feature new, never-before-seen footage not included in the original releases.

Some of that new footage is a brand new anime sequence. Additionally, it looks as though Tarantino has decided to change the black and white footage during the Crazy 88 sequence to color, which will be exciting to watch anew considering the immense gore during that section of the film.

Plus, the upcoming cut also got a sick new poster, which bathes Uma Thurman’s The Bride in white and sees her brandishing her legendary Hatori Hanzo sword against her face.

That all said, The Whole Bloody Affair isn’t entirely new, despite how exciting it is for the national audience. Tarantino owns two beloved movie theaters in Los Angeles, the New Beverly and the Vista, where he has screened his preferred cut of Kill Bill over the years. In fact, he most recently did a run of the cut over the summer — and believe it or not, the one-film cut clocks in at over four hours long, which confirms that it is by far Tarantino’s longest film thus far. But for the folks who don’t live in Los Angeles, this is a major opportunity to see the filmmaker’s intended cut.

Interestingly enough, there’s a little tease you may have missed in the new trailer, and it’s for all the gamers who are Tarantino fans. There’s an incredibly short shot of lead Beatrix Kiddo’s ride, the Pussy Wagon, but it’s not actually from the film. It’s from Fortnite, which will soon boast a big collab with Tarantino to support the theatrical release of the cut. They’ve changed the name of the truck a bit to comply with the general PG-rated nature of the game, but it will make an appearance nonetheless.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will hit theaters nationwide on December 5. It clocks in at 281 minutes (including a 15-minute intermission).
