The Pokémon Company International has officially confirmed the next Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution expansion will be Chaos Rising. This comes after initial leaks in February had preemtively revealed the third set to release in 2026.
Chaos Rising is set to focus on Mega Evolutions featured in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, with “Mega Floette ex wreaking havoc as night falls in Lumiose City.” Other “powerful” Mega Evolutions in focus include Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, and Mega Dragalge ex.
Trainers can also look forward to: five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, five Pokémon ex, 11 illustration rare Pokémon, 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards, and six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards included. The new expansion will be available from May 22, 2026, with preorders expected to start soon at The Pokémon Center and other major retailers.
Also revealed was the new Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box, featuring Mega Greninja, which is expected to release alongside the expansion on May 22.
Before Chaos Rising, the next set to release for Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution is Perfect Order, which launches soon on March 27. Just like Chaos Rising, Perfect Order focuses on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and brings Mega Zygarde ex into the spotlight.
The other set released this year was Ascended Heroes, which was released near the end of January, but is still ongoing with a staggered release schedule into April.

In other recent Pokémon TCG news, the recent Pokémon Presents livestream also teased an upcoming 30th Anniversary set later this year. According to The Pokémon Company, it will feature “an exciting line of products” with minimal other details revealed so far.
The sale numbers for the recently released Pokémon Pokopia have also been revealed, confirming it was a big launch for Nintendo Switch 2, selling over 2.2 million copies over its release weekend.
