New Disclosure Day Trailer Teases Their Arrival and a Whole Lot More

New Disclosure Day Trailer Teases Their Arrival and a Whole Lot More

A new Disclosure Day trailer has added even more mystery to Steven Spielberg’s upcoming summer sci-fi blockbuster, teasing the arrival of… well, they’re not people.

The movie is created and directed by Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg, and stars Oppenheimer and A Quiet Place’s Emily Blunt as well as Josh O’Connor (Challengers, The Crown), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, Kingsman franchise), Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters, The Perfect Couple), and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Rustin).

The film revolves around what at face value looks like the hidden truth that aliens are among us, but there’s plenty of weird and wonderful bits in the trailer that are worth highlighting. Colin Firth’s character, for example, appears hell bent on keeping the truth a secret for fear of upending the world order, and can be seen appearing in a house and having a conversation with someone remotely, via some sort of advanced technology device hooked up to his mind. Even his eyes have changed color.

Emily Blunt’s character, meanwhile, does that creepy ticking noise while attempting to read the weather report, as we saw in the debut trailer, but now we see she is caught up in the attempt to reveal the truth to the world — Disclosure Day itself. Josh O’Connor’s character, who is at the heart of the attempt to reveal the truth, says he can understand Blunt’s weird ticking noises. I wonder what she’s saying!

Nothing is as it seems here. There are fantastic elements, what may well be a return to childhood for Blunt’s character, and more tantalizing shots. But there are clear thriller elements, too, with Blunt and O’Connor attempting to escape an attempt on their lives. “When the time is right, everything will become clear,” we’re told. At the end of the trailer we get a glimpse of what looks like an alien spaceship emerging from the clouds.

Is this the mothership?

The tagline is:

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people.

We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.

David Koepp, whose previous work with Spielberg includes the scripts for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, wrote the screenplay based on a story by Spielberg.

Disclosure Day hits theaters on June 12, 2026.
