McFarlane Toys Reveals Jack Nicholson Joker Figure

McFarlane Toys Reveals Jack Nicholson Joker Figure

McFarlane Toys has covered the width and breadth of the DC Universe with its long-running DC Multiverse line, giving collectors figures inspired by the classic comics as well as various TV, video game, and film adaptations. But McFarlane’s latest release is one we never expected to see. Somehow, they’ve managed to produce a figure based on Jack Nicholson’s Joker from the 1989 Batman movie.

Nicholson’s Joker may be iconic, but there have been surprisingly few toys and collectibles based on that character over the years. That’s because Nicholson, who was famously paid very handsomely for his appearance in the movie as well as the surrounding merchandise, retains his own likeness rights and reportedly charges a pretty penny to authorize toys featuring said likeness. Apart from Hot Toys, few companies have managed to release licensed Jack Nicholson Joker figures over the years. McFarlane has done what competitors like Mattel and NECA couldn’t (or wouldn’t).

You can get a closer look at this new Joker figure in the slideshow gallery below:

As you can see, there are actually two versions of the figure being released, with one featuring a pinkish-red costume that pays homage to the classic Kenner figure from 1989. It appears that McFarlane Toys has avoided naming Nicholson or featuring his likeness on the packaging, which may have helped this one squeak by DC’s licensing department.

In any case, this new figure should be a welcome addition to many fans’ collections, as previously McFarlane has focused more on the villains of the other Burton and Schumacher-verse movies. Joker measures about 7 inches tall and features 22 points of articulation and an array of accessories that includes extra hands, interchangeable hair, a cane, a bullhorn, a novelty revolver, a long-barrel revolver, and a display base.

The DC Multiverse McFarlane Collector Edition The Joker figure is priced at $34.99 for each version, with an expected ship date of April 2026. You can check out the figure on Amazon, though he’s not available for preorder as of publish time.

In other Joker news, DC’s newest Batman comic just delivered a radical new overhaul of this iconic Gotham villain.
