Newly-installed Xbox boss Asha Sharma has revealed the company’s new console bootup sequence, which is set to go live via a firmware update next week.
Via a post on social media, Sharma dropped the short clip which features an animated version of the newly-glossy (and once again green) Xbox logo, as well as a refreshed version of the brand’s familiar bootup sound.
Can’t wait for next Wednesday, when the boot up sequence arrives on your console? Pop your headphones on and press play below to see (and hear) how the new startup animation sounds:

The branding switch is the latest quickfire change by Sharma since her reign at Xbox began in late February. In the couple of months since, she has greenlit long-requested features for current consoles, doubled down on Microsoft’s commitment to a next-gen Xbox console, ditched the division’s previous Microsoft Gaming name (as well as the unpopular “This is an Xbox” marketing campaign), and cut the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (while booting new Call of Duty games from the subscription on day one).
Just yesterday, Sharma announced a raft of leadership changes within Xbox that Microsoft hopes will drive a revival for its console brand. While many of these staff come from Sharma’s former AI division within the company, the announcement was notably followed by confirmation that the Co-Pilot on Xbox software was being discontinued — another change that was warmly welcomed by fans.
Finally, if you can’t wait for the new Xbox bootup sequence to get the new logo on your console, the design is already available as a dynamic background, a profile background and a gamer pic on Xbox consoles.
