IGN can reveal new artwork from Hope, the new sci-fi/action film from director Na Hong-jin (The Wailing).
These images, which can be seen by scrolling through the slideshow below, features concept art created by Parallax Studios depicting the extraterrestrial creatures that crash-land on Earth in the forest outside the idyllic hamlet of Hope Harbor.
With different classes and species of otherworldly creatures now on the loose, it’s up to the chief of police, his gun-toting female sergeant, and a motley group of hunters to stop them.
IGN raved about Hope when it premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Our critic Siddhant Adlakha awarded the film a score of 9/10, writing in his Hope review:
“Through forests, mountainsides, and claustrophobic main streets, Hope launches a gonzo sensory assault with an action-comedy-thriller saga of a small town beset by forces much larger than itself. Beginning with a lengthy climax, then unspooling a mystery in reverse before climaxing once again, its peculiar structure is as uncannily inviting as its malformed creature designs, which work to bring cultural paranoia into a riveting clash with nature.”
Adlakha continued, “It’s a nonstop blast with the kind of low-to-the-ground vehicular and horseback action that’ll have you falling off the front of your seat.”
The cast of Hope includes Hwang Junh-Min, Zo In-Sung, Hoyeon Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.
Hope opened in approximately 1,500 theaters across the U.S. on September 9. That makes it the widest domestic theatrical release for a Korean-language film since the Oscar-winning Parasite.
