A Twitch streamer gave birth live, with Twitch’s CEO in the chat

On Tuesday, Twitch streamer Fandy took a break from streaming games like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and League of Legends, to broadcast herself giving birth. The eight-hour-long stream captured the livestreamer going into labor and eventually giving birth to her child inside a small inflatable pool in a living room, as thousands of viewers tuned in, including Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.

“Hi twitter my water just broke so I think I’m going this live. Baby time :),” Fandy wrote on X before starting the livestream. The stream, which garnered more than 50,000 views so far, isn’t the first birth streamed on Twitch (or other platforms, for that matter). But it’s certainly one of the first where a content creator with hundreds and thousands of followers livestreamed the entire process and promoted it as simply her latest content.

Some users questioned whether Fandy’s livestream went against Twitch’s community guidelines, but Clancy’s comment during the livestream suggest she has the platform’s seal of approval. “Fandy. Best of luck and congratulations,” Clancy wrote. “Wishing you the best in this journey.”

After seeing the baby for the first time, Fandy’s husband, who goes by Adamax, turned to viewers and commented on its size, “That’s a plus one baby, boys!”
