Agatha All Along won’t get a Season 2, star Patti LuPone has said.

Speaking on the Andy Cohen Live podcast, as reported by The Wrap, LuPone said showrunner Jac Jac Schaeffer told her the fate of her character, Lilia Calderu, ahead of the end of Season 1.

Warning! Spoilers for Agatha All Along Season 1 follow:

“There won’t be one,” LuPone said of a Season 2. “Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season.’”

Apparently the reason Schaeffer declined Agatha All Along Season 2 is the same as the reason she turned down WandaVision Season 2: “[Schaeffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”

It’s worth pointing out that neither Marvel nor Disney have issued an official comment on the prospect of Agatha All Along Season 2 following the end of Season 1 in October 2024.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Upcoming Movie and TV Show

Deadline reported that new 2024 data from Luminate showed Disney+ shows such as Echo and Agatha All Along underperformed versus previous Marvel streaming series. Percy Jackson and the Olympians was, according to Luminate, the top show on Disney+ last year with over 3 billion minutes viewed, and Star Wars series The Acolyte came in second place with 2.7 billion.

IGN’s Agatha All Along Season 1 review returned an 8/10. We said: “Agatha All Along may have had some bumps in the road, but the story made up for it with some of Marvel’s best TV moments.”

As for the MCU, it continues with Captain America: Brave New World in February, Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ in March, Thunderbolts in May, Ironheart on Disney+ in June, and Phase 6 kickstarter The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
