Brilliant Minds and Stumble Canceled at NBC

Brilliant Minds and Stumble have both been canceled at NBC.

Entertainment Weekly reported that the network will not be moving forward with follow-up seasons for either show. It’s a move that will see Brilliant Minds come to an end with Season 2, with Stumble shuttered after finishing its first and final season in March 2026.

Brilliant Minds aired its first season in September 2024 and was a New York City-set medical drama that starred Zachary Quinto (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Dr. Oliver Wolf. Based on real-life British neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks, an official description for the series said it followed Bronx General’s Dr. Wolf, “whose compassionate approach leads to astounding breakthroughs in some of the world’s most puzzling psychological cases.”

Brilliant Minds Season 2 premiered in September 2025 and took a break during the Olympics in early February. Its remaining episodes are expected to begin airing May 27.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that both Brilliant Minds and Stumble were “among NBC’s least watched scripted series of the season.” The second season of Quinto’s medical drama averaged at a little more than 3 million views in its first week pre-streaming. Stumble managed to pull in 2.24 million viewers in the same time frame.

Stumble began its run in November. The show, a comedy that follows the life of a cheerleading coach (Jenn Lyon), ends its time on air with just 13 episodes.

“In this all-new comedy, an elite cheerleading coach has her life flipped upside down when she’s forced to start over with a new squad of lovable misfits,” an official description from NBC said. “But to win the championship, they have no choice but to kick it into high cheer.”

The THR report added that NBC is still mulling over the future of Law & Order, The Hunting Party, and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. It’s unclear when a decision regarding their fate will be announced. In the meantime, the network is said to have recently ordered eight pilots in anticipation for next season.
