Capgemini, SAP and Mistral AI to roll out genAI for highly regulated industries

Capgemini has expanded its partnership with software company SAP and Mistral AI to offer bespoke generative AI (genAI) solutions for highly regulated industries.

The move will see the IT company implement tailored genAI solutions within SAP environments, with a focus on supporting industries with stringent data requirements such as financial services, public sector, aerospace and defence, energy and utilities.

As part of the initiative, Capgemini will combine Mistral AI’s genAI models within SAP’s business technology platform to deliver more than 50 low-impact, business-ready AI use cases that aim to drive growth and operations, increase resilience, and provide more personalised customer service solutions.

Examples of these use cases include augmented field operators that can efficiently resolve non-compliance in operations for the aerospace and defence industries; drone-based inspections that boost predictive maintenance and generates actionable insights; and intelligent indirect purchasing that helps choose the most convenient products from multiple suppliers in various industries.

Marjorie Janiewicz, Mistral AI board member and global head of revenue, said that the partnership unlocks new high value use cases for organisations looking to boost their operations with genAI capabilities.

“By combining our frontier, multilingual and highly customisable AI models with Capgemini’s expertise in delivering real world industry-specific genAI solutions, and the assurance of SAP’s robust technology platform, we are making the effective integration of AI more accessible for all organisations, including those in highly regulated industries.”

Fernando Alvarez, chief strategy and development officer and member of the group executive board at Capgemini, emphasised how businesses are increasingly turning to genAI to improve their resilience, streamline operations and customer service.

“Together with Mistral AI and SAP, we can empower organisations to access a broad range of innovative and customised AI models, to drive significant business value and foster sustainable growth,” continued Alvarez.

Capgemini has previously partnered with SAP to expand its global SAP Centre of Excellence dedicated to supporting organisations in their digital transformation.

The partnership has seen the two companies collaborate with several firms, including automotive supplier Brose, which they provided AI assistants for suppliers.
