Channel Islands Co-operative to roll out membership app

The Channel Islands Co-operative (CI Coop) has unveiled plans to roll out a new membership app.

The new platform, which is being developed by software business Lobyco, will include rewards, tailored offers, and interactive features such as games as the retailer looks to strengthen loyalty and create added value for its customers.

The CI Coop is a member-owned business, owned by over 120,000 members.

The retailer has a network of food, pharmacy, and fuel services across the islands.

The company said that the plans are part of its investment in a “digital-first” approach, with the new platform giving it insights into customer preferences and engagement.

“At the Coop, our members are at the heart of everything we do, and this collaboration allows us to deliver even more value, convenience, and personalisation,” said David McGrath, chief marketing and membership officer, CI Coop. “Together, we’re creating a smarter, more rewarding way to shop, one that reflects the needs of our community and makes every visit even more engaging.”

The move comes after the Southern Co-op announced plans to launch a new membership app including games, challenges, and new promotions in July.

The co-operative also partnered with Lobyco on its new platform.

At the time, the retailer said that the new app will offer customers a more personalised and interactive way to shop, earn rewards, and access exclusive offers.

It added that the move will take its digital engagement with customers to “the next level” as part of plans to reimagine its loyalty strategy.
