Fresh from Warhammer Skulls comes confirmation that the well received strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is getting a sequel all about the Deathwatch.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch is developed by Complex Games, the studio behind the first game, and published by Frontier. It’s due out across PC and console, although there’s no release window yet. We do have the debut trailer below.
In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Deathwatch are a special Chapter of Space Marines known for fighting aliens. They’re unique in that they’re made up of mostly veteran Space Marines from other Chapters, and so (most) of their members wear their original Chapter’s colors on their right pauldron, with the trademark Deathwatch color reserved for the left.
There are a number of significant differences and improvements with the new game. For a start, you can bring in agents of the Inquisition and Astra Militarum into your squad. The enemy faction list is expanded, too. Whereas Daemonhunters pitted the Grey Knights against the Death Guard and the forces of Nurgle, Deathwatch will see players go up against the likes of the Tyranids, Orks, and T’au.

There are nine playable classes this time around. New units include the Redemptor Dreadnought, Scout Sentinel, and Leman Russ tank. Also new is the Skirmish mode, which offers fully customisable standalone battles for total control of the battlefield.
