Co-op and Uber Eats have announced a new three-year partnership renewal that will include deliveries made via Peckish the retailer’s new app for independent grocers.

Uber Direct is a white label delivery platform that allows retailers to offer on-demand delivery from within their own website or app.

The platform has been a delivery partner for Co-op’s online shop since 2024, with customers able to order groceries on the retailer’s app and have the items delivered through the Uber Eats’ delivery network.

As part of a three-year partnership renewal, Uber Direct will now deliver through Co-op’s quick delivery app designed to support independent grocery retailers.

Launched in February, Peckish aims to help small, often family-owned businesses provide online grocery shopping and delivery services to their local customers, enabling them to have an online presence and overcome barriers such as cost, size and resources.

The platform, which links Co-op and the businesses via an EPOS system, aims to automate tasks such as pricing and stock control, seeking to support retailers with data, trends and market insights.

With the renewed partnership, Co-op also confirmed that it will continue to offer price savings for Uber Eats members, with over six million Co-op members currently accessing savings on around 200 products when ordering products via the Uber app.

Co-op and Uber have been working together since 2022, with the number of Co-op shops offering Uber Eats services growing over the years to more than 1,300.

Chris Conway, director of quick trade at Co-op, said that the extended partnership reinforces its focus on growing Co-op’s quick trade channel.

“Innovation is fundamental to our approach, whether extending reach and choice, creating value through member price savings, or, delivering the Peckish app to give independent grocery retailers a voice online,” he added.
