Microsoft has teased the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Game Pass, via a social media post.
While over five years old at this point, CD Projekt’s sci-fi blockbuster would still be a notable addition to Microsoft’s subscription service. As of yet, however, there’s no word on when it might be added.
In a post on social media last night, the official Xbox Game Pass account dropped numerous hints at a big addition to the service’s catalog, while also dropping numerous mentions of “v” — which is, of course, the name of the game’s main character.

“Something v cool is coming soon…” Microsoft teased. An attached image then shows a fictional internal email which describes “the latest upcoming addition” as “a v good one too” — with the “V” bolded.
Reinforcing the tease, the email begins with “wake up social team,” which is a reference to “Wake the f**k up, Samurai! We have a city to burn,” the line delivered by Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand in the 2019 Cyberpunk 2077 cinematic trailer.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been available via PlayStation Plus since last summer, so its arrival onto Xbox Game Pass would not be a huge surprise. Perhaps the hope is that anyone who’s not yet played the game will be given a sample of what CD Projekt has to offer, ahead of The Witcher 3’s much-rumored new DLC that’s expected to arrive later this year.
Work is also underway on the game’s full sequel, Cyberpunk 2, which does not yet have a release date, and The Witcher 4, which we know won’t launch in 2026. After that, there’s an ambitious roadmap to then launch The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6 in relatively quick succession, wrapping up the series’ second trilogy in just six years.
For now, we’ll keep an eye on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass announcements and update again when Cyberpunk 2077 is made official.
