Marvel has provided our best look yet at Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, showing the return of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and the reveal of Matthew Lillard’s mysterious Mr. Charles.

The newly-released trailer appears to be the same one that was shown to fans at New York Comic Con last year (where Ritter accidentally leaked some of the footage!) and again last month at CCXP in Brazil, now made available more widely.

But while the trailer’s contents are not a huge surprise, it’s still our first proper look at Ritter back in her iconic Netflix-era role — immediately quipping to Charlie Cox’s injured Matt Murdock that he better be able to walk — as she’s not carrying him.

The trailer opens with seemingly idyllic scenes of Murdock and Karen Page finally, finally once again a couple (hurray!) before something causes our hero to cry out in pain. We also see Vincent D’Onofrio and Ayelet Zurer as Wilson and Vanessa Fisk sharing a tender moment, while Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye tucks into an ice cream sundae at a diner — once again seemingly about to cause trouble.

There’s a curious shot of someone wearing a rubber Fisk mask delivering an address to camera, and a reveal of Lillard’s character Mr. Charles strolling onto the scene. A missing poster for Matt Murdock is placed on a wall, and later scenes see Murdock and Page walking determinedly underground.

Speaking to EW previously, Marvel’s Head of TV and Animation Brad Winderbaum described Lillard’s role thus: “He plays a character named Mr. Charles. The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but as a king in a way, it puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage. Matthew Lillard’s character represents that.”

Brief shots show another look at Fisk’s prison, Murdock’s former love interest Heather Glenn, Fisk beating someone in a boxing ring, and his lackeys looking like they’re getting ready to get rid of a body. One notable, split-second reveal confirms Elden Henson has recorded new material as Foggy Nelson (despite Henson himself previously attempting to deny this).

The trailer concludes with a launch date — March 24, exclusively via Disney+. Marvel previously confirmed to IGN that a third season of Daredevil: Born Again was already in the works, with filming due to begin this year.
