Cryptozoic’s long-running DC Deck-Building Game is growing even bigger in 2025 with the release of a new Arkham Asylum deck. This base set deck will allow players to fill the shoes of iconic villains like Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, and Riddler as they terrorize Gotham City.

DC Deck-Building Game: Arkham Asylum is the focus of Cryptozoic’s latest Kickstarter campaign. The deck will be available in one of two covers – the standard DC villains cover by Philip Tan and a Kickstarter -exclusive cover spotlighting Joker and Harley by Matteo Scalera. The campaign also includes the option of one of two Travel Boxes, a Batman Edition and a Kickstarter-exclusive Joker Edition. These Travel Boxes are made to store 500 cards and can even unfold to form a play mat.

This campaign also marks the debut of 2DZ acrylic standees, spotlighting the various heroes and villains featured in the DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth line. These standees will be available in packs of three or four and include characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Green Arrow, and Darkseid.

In addition to the Arkham Asylum deck, backers have the option to purchase no fewer than five new expansion packs. They include Crisis Expansion Pack 5: Death Metal (a co-op expansion where players team up to confront various Crisis Events), Crossover Pack 11: Dark Knights Rising (where players assume the role of one of The Batman Who Laughs’ Dark Knights), a Super Friends Expansion Pack inspired by the classic animated series, the Black Adam-themed Rebirth One-Shot Pack 3, and a fifth mystery expansion to be revealed during the course of the Kickstarter campaign.

“The DC Deck-Building Game community is at the center of what we do, and we can’t wait to spend another 30 days sharing our love of the DC universe and the series of games,” said Shahriar Fouladi, Cryptozoic’s Vice President of Product Development & Marketing, in a statement. “We chose Arkham Asylum as the theme of the latest base set because, like most fans, we love Batman’s Rogues Gallery and we wanted to design a game that puts them front and center. We are also very excited about the new Travel Box, which may be the single coolest game accessory we’ve ever created, and the introduction of 2DZ acrylic standees. We have lots of incredible stretch goals and surprises planned for fans!”

The DC Deck-Building Game: Arkham Asylum crowdfunding campaign runs until October 3, with backers expected to receive their items in July 2025.
