Deus Ex Remastered is on the way, and it already has a release date of February 5, 2026, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.
Aspyr Media and Eidos-Montréal announced a refresh for the original Deus Ex video game during the September 2025 State of Play today. It comes with a trailer, teasing a re-release for a classic that is only a few months away from launch.
Aspyr calls Deus Ex Remastered the “definitive version” of Ion Storm’s original immersive sim. Although exact details on all of the changes have yet to be revealed, the studio promises players can look forward to “visual upgrades, modern enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements.”
“The year is 2052,” an official description of Deus Ex Remastered’s story says. “Societies are teetering on collapse, plagues spread unchecked, and shadow governments shape the future. You are JC Denton—a nano-augmented UNATCO operative tasked with protecting order. But the deeper you dig, the more lies you uncover. What begins as a mission becomes a fracture point in human history.”
The newly established Deus Ex Remastered Steam page shares a few more details about what longtime fans and newcomers can expect. The 2000 video game has been given a facelift that includes new elements, such as reimagined lighting, dynamic shadows, water physics, particle effects, and new textures. Players will also notice some updated character models in today’s new trailer, with Aspyr promising the remaster comes with better lip-sync animations and ragdoll physics, too.
Quality of life changes in Deus Ex Remastered range from autosaves and faster loading to achievements and cloud saves. There’s also controller support on PC, as well as multi-screen support. You can see how the remaster compares to the original in the gallery below.
While we wait for updates on how exactly Deus Ex is different from the original, you can check out everything announced at the September 2025 State of Play. You can also read up on the new Deus Ex game Embracer Group reportedly canceled in early 2024.
