Dr Disrespect Was Allegedly Reported To the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children By Twitch

As the Dr Disrespect saga unravels, things seem to be getting even worse, as Slasher has claimed that Twitch allegedly reported the prominent streamer to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. While Dr Disrespect tried to clarify things and alleviate the situation in a long post on Twitter a few days back, a series of events that followed the incident hasn’t gone in the Twitch streamer’s favor.

Fellow peers from the streaming community have also commented on the situation recently, with Shroud stating that he cut off all communication with Dr Disrespect after he was banned from Twitch. He highlights that Twitch doesn’t permanently ban someone for trivial incidents, so he decided to stay away from the controversy. Amid that, it seems like the matter might have been more serious than initially thought.

In a Kick stream with Destiny, industry insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau made some shocking revelations about the Dr Disrespect incident. He states that Dr Disrespect was reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) by Twitch. He even accepts having it on record and goes on to state that all the reports go to the NCMEC. He goes on to clarify that by the reports he meant ones involving child sexual abuse material, which he refers to as CSAM.

Mystery Still Surrounds The Dr Disrespect Saga

However, things aren’t as clear, as Slasher further adds that there are no court records acknowledging this, nor has any law enforcement ever commented or acknowledged whether something of this sort happened. Additionally, it is also not known what happened after the report took place. Dancantstream further clarifies, stating that there is probably a trained employee at Twitch to analyze such incidents, and it was subsequently adjudicated as serious enough to involve the NCMEC. Slasher reiterates that the explicit messages continued after Dr Disrespect was made aware of the fact that the victim was a minor.

The community has echoed similar sentiments as dancantstream, highlighting that the incident would’ve been quite bad or else it wouldn’t have led Twitch to involve the NCMEC. However, what the reports led to is a mystery many are still curious about. However, one Redittor highlights that under 18 U.S. Code 2258A, providers are required to report all incidents to the NCMEC, so it doesn’t necessarily state anything about the seriousness of the matter. That being said, many are still unhappy that the incident, which also led to Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban, is being brought to light after so long, and that prominent figures who were well aware of the details decided to keep it under wraps as well.
