Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Tom Holland has reportedly thanked the film’s crew and hinted at working together again on future films, in a handwritten note that’s been posted online.
Copies of the note, obtained by The Direct, are believed to have been given to Brand New Day crew members last month as the project’s filming reached its conclusion, alongside a commemorative beanie hat.
Holland’s letter describes his fourth Spider-Man film as the “most creatively fulfilling filming experience” he’s ever worked on, and goes on to say that he hopes he’ll team up with the crew again “many times over.”

“Firstly, I’m so sad this is coming to an end,” Holland began. “It’s been tough and hard work, but working with you all every day has been such a joy. Thank you for making this the most creatively fulfilling filming experience I’ve ever had.
“Your hard work, dedication, talent, and kindness has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of and I can’t thank you enough. I’ve loved laughing with you all and I hope we do this many times over.
“This movie wouldn’t be a fraction of what it will be without you,” he concluded. “So thank you from the bottom of my heart and I’ll see you next time.”
While Holland has not gone into detail on his plans for more Spider-Man movies beyond Brand New Day, or what contract he now may have signed with Marvel and Sony for more appearances, fans have long suspected that actor is planning to make a second full trilogy of Spider-Man films — and there’s never been a suggestion that the actor is close to making his swansong in the role. Certainly, this letter makes it sound like Holland is only at the beginning of a new phase in his Spider career.
Last week, Cretton described Tom Holland’s return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as a “tonal shift” from the actors’ first trilogy, and a “new chapter” of Peter Parker’s story. The movie is expected to pick up some time after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Spider-Man’s real identity forgotten by the wider world — separating him from ex-girlfriend MJ and best friend Ned. At the same time, Holland will have to deal with a new threat (which may or may not be the mysterious character played by Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink) and team up with gun-toting Marvel TV action hero Frank Castle/The Punisher as well as The Hulk.
A printed note also handed to crew members includes a quick thank you from the project’s leadership, including director Destin Daniel Cretton, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and former Sony Pictures exec Amy Pascal. “Thank you so much for all your hard work on each and every Brand New Day!” the note reads.
Fans are still waiting for the film’s first full trailer, though what appeared to be grainy footage of an upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser hit the internet just before Christmas, featuring dialogue that positioned Sink as portraying a villain — initially, at least. “You’re a mess, Spider-Man,” Sink’s character can be heard to say. “Don’t get in my way. Otherwise, it won’t just be your friends who don’t remember who Peter Parker is.”
Here’s hoping we get to remember who Peter Parker is ourselves with a look at a trailer soon, ahead of the film itself lauching in theaters on July 31.
