‘If This Is My Fate… Well… F*** It’ — Fallout Star Walton Goggins Responds After Pete Davidson Predicts Fans Will ‘Turn’ on Him Like They Did With Pedro Pascal

Fallout star Walton Goggins has issued a response to Pete Davidson’s prediction that fans will “turn” on him as they did with Pedro Pascal.

There exists a public discourse around Pascal that suggests the actor is appearing in too many projects, leading to potential “Pascal fatigue” with his ubiquitous presence in film, television, and media.

Davidson had discussed the sentiment around Pascal, who has starred in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Materialists, Eddington, and The Last of Us Season 2 so far this year, on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast.

“Look at Pedro Pascal right now,” Davidson said. “F***ing two years ago he’s a hardworking, great actor. He’s worked so hard and has been a struggling actor, f***ing blows up so f***ing hard, everyone’s like, ‘Daddy, daddy! Daddy, daddy!’ And then a year later, he’s, like, in everything now ’cause he’s hot and big and everyone’s like, ‘Go the f**k away, dude.’

“You gotta give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame. He’s been banging at it for 30 years, and now he’s learning how to go get a cup of coffee or deal with someone who taps you on the shoulder while you have your earbuds in and freaks you out. You got to give that guy a f***ing second to adjust.”

Davidson then predicted Goggins, who plays Rick Hatchett in The White Lotus, and will reprise his role as The Ghoul in Season 2 of Fallout, is next.

“They’re gonna do it with Walton Goggins… will be next,” Davidson said. “It’s like, we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn. It’s within months, where you’re like what the f**k.”

Fallout Season 2: Who’s Confirmed to Return and Who’s New?

Goggins has now issued a comment on Instagram after seeing The Hollywood Reporter’s story on Davidson’s prediction. He said that he suspects some people are “tired of hearing my homilies,” as didn’t blame fans for that, but insisted he has to talk about various projects he has coming out (Fallout Season 2 is no doubt among them) “to honor all of those that worked so hard to bring these stories to fruition.”

He then told fans to avoid clicking on stories with his name attached “unless you want to,” before expressing gratitude that he’s even part of a conversation like this. “If saying yes in life more than saying no is a crime, then I’m guilty as charged,” he added.

As for whether or not he’s next for the Pascal treatment, Goggins delivered a line straight out of The Ghoul’s playbook:

“If this headline is a possibility or an inevitability… if this is my fate… Well… F*** it. I’m going to enjoy the F*** OUT OF IT.”

Pedro Pascal, meanwhile, is set to reprise his role as The Mandalorian in Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Reed Richards in MCU flick Avengers: Doomsday next year.
