The next game from It Takes Two developer Hazelight Studios has leaked online ahead of an announcement expected at The Game Awards next week.

Reliable dealabs leaker billbil-kun reported that Hazelight Studios’ next game is called Split Fiction and is due out on March 6, 2025, on PC and consoles (we don’t know which exactly). A reveal trailer is reportedly due out this month.

Hazelight is headed up by Josef Fares, the charismatic designer of the Brothers, A Way Out, and the 20 million-selling It Takes Two. The studio’s games are published by EA under its EA Originals banner (IGN has asked EA for comments). Fares is an eye-catching regular at The Game Awards, with this year’s event set for December 12.

Split Fiction is another co-op adventure from Hazelight, which makes sense given the breakout success of It Takes Two. IGN’s It Takes Two review returned a 9/10. We called it “a spectacular co-op adventure that lays down a path of great gameplay ideas and uses it to play a giddy game of hopscotch.”

It won Game of the Year, Best Family Game, and Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards 2021, and a film adaptation is currently in the works at Amazon Studios, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson producing.

Fares himself has teased Split Fiction as the title of the game in a tweet, with Hazelight also getting in on the act. “Getting a lot of questions about the next game,” Fares wrote. “Here is a tease. It is a BRAND NEW IP called S*** ******N. Can’t wait to show it soon🔥”

The Game Awards is expected to be a big one this year, with a number of significant announcements. Stay tuned for more.
