Just Eat Takeaway.com has expanded its in-car ordering system, with the company planning to roll out the technology to more countries in Europe.
The system allows customers to place food orders using an in-car screen for customers of certain Mercedes-Benz cars.
The food delivery service launched the system last December in the UK and will now roll out the service to customers in Ireland, Spain and Italy.
The company added that it is working with other car brands to implement the service and test similar features.
Elsewhere, Just Eat shared that it has launched Menu AI, which is a tool to help speed-up the process of onboarding food outlets. The technology uses AI to capture menus and place it on the Just Eat platform.
The company said that the service will support its expansion into the grocery and retail space by increasing the number of product lines offered on its platform.
The service is currently live in the UK, with Just Eat rolling out the technology to other markets over the coming months.
“We want to fit seamlessly into the lives of our network so we’re always looking at how best to evolve our technology to make using our platform as convenient as possible,” said Jessica Hall, chief product officer at Just Eat Takeaway.com. “For our customers, this means making the ordering journey as easy as possible, whether that’s supporting them to try new foods or find last minute groceries.
“For our partners, we want to provide them with a consistent end-to-end experience, to help them reach more customers and grow their businesses.”
