LEGO has announced its biggest Jurassic World set yet: a massive T-rex skeleton that stretches over three feet long. It comes with minifigures for Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, two prominent characters from the original Jurassic Park movie, where this skeleton appears in the visitor center. The set is priced at $249.99 and will be available on the LEGO Store March 12 for LEGO Insiders (you can sign up here for free) or March 15 for everyone else.

The set consists of 3,145 pieces and is designed for the 18+ age group, meaning it’s meant for display rather than play. It also may include some more advanced building techniques that may be tough for kids to figure out.

It’s kind of hard to get a sense of the scale of this set just by looking at pictures. The minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler help, but it really is over three feet long when fully assembled. The skeleton’s skull is identical in many ways to this LEGO T-rex skull, available now (my son built this set, and it looks great). But the rest of the skeleton adds a lot to the effect of the upcoming set on the whole.

The dinosaur’s skeleton has articulated joints, which let you pose it in a variety of ways. The head moves, the jaw opens, the arms and tail can be positioned this way and that. Like most LEGO sets based on movies, it has several hidden Easter eggs you’ll discover as you build. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque with information about the T-rex’s diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO’s collection of Jurassic World sets isn’t as big as its LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter ones, it’s growing fast. And I, for one, would love to see more LEGO sets for adults like this T-rex skeleton included in it going forward.
