LEGO has announced a new Star Wars set based on Jabba’s sail barge from Return of the Jedi. The set is the latest entry in LEGO’s Ultimate Collector Series (UCS), which means it’s large, pricy, and meant for display – and for adults, with an 18+ age recommendation. It sports a price tag of $499.99, and will be available exclusively at the LEGO Store on October 3 for LEGO Insiders, and October 6 for everyone else.

If you’re interested in the set and you’re not a LEGO Insider, you can sign up here for free. And you definitely should, because anyone who purchases the Jabba’s Sail Barge set within the LEGO Insiders window (October 3 – 6) will also receive a LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber (set #40730) as a free gift, at least while supplies last. It’s another set intended for display, made up of 145 pieces and valued at $21.99.

LEGO Star Wars: Jabba’s Sail Barge – Collectors’ Edition

As for the main event, though, Jabba’s Sail Barge is comprised of 3,942 pieces and comes with 11 Star Wars characters, including Jabba, Leia, and more (see below for the full list). The set is over 30 inches long (77cm), with sides that fold down to reveal a detailed interior made up of several separate rooms. You get a cockpit, prison cell, armory, kitchen, and entertainment room.

There’s also a buildable display stand for the minifigures. Like the other Star Wars UCS LEGO sets, it also comes with an informational display plaque, and it comes with a LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary brick.

LEGO Star Wars: Jabba’s Sail Barge (Set #75397) Characters Included

Jabba’s Sail Barge is featured in one of the more iconic set pieces in the original Star Wars trilogy, when the grotesque crime lord tries to send Luke Skywalker and friends to their doom in the Sarlacc pit. The plan backfires, with Boba Fett meeting (what seems to be) his doom, and Jabba getting fatally choked out by Leia.

Upcoming Star Wars Sets

When it comes to Star Wars and LEGO, you have a bounteous supply of sets to choose from (for help choosing, check out our picks for the best Star Wars LEGO sets. However, coming out October 1 is a pretty cool Imperial Dropship vs. Rebel Scout Speeder set (see it at LEGO Store). And while you might think you’d have to wait for closer to December to buy the 2024 LEGO advent calendars, you actually don’t. A LEGO Star Wars advent calendar is already available to purchase (see it at Amazon). For even more new and upcoming (non-Star Wars) sets, check out the LEGO sets for September and beyond.
