Fashion retailer Mango has implemented a new AI-powered supply chain platform designed to improve the quality and performance of its products.
The platform, installed in partnership with technology company Inspectorio, aims to give the retailer insights at supplier, material and product level.
The technology also standardises lab testing protocols across Mango’s product categories including apparel, footwear and home goods.
The retailer said this ensures global compliance as well as supporting its long-term strategic sustainability plan.
Mango first partnered with Inspectorio over six years ago, with the fashion brand rolling out its technology to “hundreds” of its suppliers.
The company said it has built on this partnership, expanding it as it strengthens its presence in the US and launches more stores in line with its growth plans.
Mango currently has around 3,000 points of sale and is present in over 123 markets across the world.
Earlier this month, Mango announced it had implemented a blockchain-based traceability platform that allows it to track the textile materials used in its clothes, including natural and animal fibres, synthetic fibres, artificial cellulosic fibres and leather.
Integrated through a partnership with TextileGenesis, the digital traceability platform gives Mango access to a fully digital mapping of its supply chain with the aim of guaranteeing the authenticity and origin of its products with more precision.
The technology uses digital tokens to represent each stage of the supply chain, enabling brands to track supply chain data to meet sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
