NetEase Games has released patch notes for Marvel Rivals version 20250327 ahead of Season 2’s launch in mid-April.

The developer behind Marvel’s popular hero shooter published a rundown of everything included in the upcoming update on its website today, promising to bring a series of hero fixes and map tweaks to players this Thursday, March 27. The update will come with no server downtime, meaning you’ll be able to hop in to see how heroes like Wolverine and Iron Fist have changed the moment it’s sent live at 9am (UTC+0).

One highlight included in this latest Marvel Rivals Season 1 update is a surprise addition to the Galacta’s Cosmic Quest board game event. It’s a special April Fool’s Easter egg gift that’s only available to those who have already completed the activity. NetEase only says that the reward grants access to a “hidden twist surprise,” so we’ll have to wait until later this week to see what it is for ourselves.

Another Marvel Rivals update means less clipping through maps. It’s unclear which maps will run smoother, though the team does say it’s resolved a glitch on the Hydra Charteris Base map that sometimes resulted in teammates being revived outside of the play area.

As Marvel Rivals rounds out Season 1 and prepares for Season 2, this week’s update does actually come with more than a few fixes to hero-related glitches. Wolverine, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Loki, Doctor Strange, Magneto, and Human Torch all receive their own specific ability tweaks this time around. It’s the X-Men’s clawed mascot who walks away with the most fixes in update version 20250327, as NetEase says his Feral Leap and Ultimate will now work more consistently.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is expected to arrive April 11, 2025. Players have spent months speculating about which heroes it may include, though some keen-eyed fans are at least expecting it to focus on Marvel’s infamous Hellfire Gala. If accurate, it could mean that we will indeed finally see characters like Blade and Emma Frost join the fight as NetEase makes good on its promise to introduce at least one new hero every half-season.

Fixes

All Platforms

General

1. Resolved an issue in Custom Game where a disconnected player’s character would still appear on the Like page during match settlement.

Maps and Modes

1. Fixed several terrain issues that could cause characters to sometimes become stuck or clip into strange areas.

2. Squashed a glitch in the Hydra Charteris Base map where Rocket Raccoon’s B.R.B. could sometimes revive teammates outside the play area due to terrain changes.

Heroes

1. Wolverine’s Terrifying Pounce: Resolved an issue where the Hulk could sometimes have abnormal behavior after being catapulted into a terrain KO by Wolverine’s Feral Leap. Now, the big guy gets the proper beatdown without any off-script environmental stunts!

2. Iron Fist’s Wall-Climbing Whimsy: Fixed a glitch in Practice Range where Iron Fist wall-climbing was beyond expectations. The master of martial arts can now keep his acrobatic feats on track!

3. Iron Man’s Teleportation Tangle: In Sanctum Sanctorum, Iron Man use of Hyper-Velocity followed immediately by portal entry could occasionally throw a wrench in the works—resulting in the ability to misfire and some off-color special effects. Now, Iron Man’s high-tech strategy is as sleek as ever, letting him jet in and out as he pleases.

4. Loki-Doctor Strange’s Forbidden Tech: Fixed an issue in Doom Match where Loki’s transformation into Doctor Strange allowed the use of the forbidden Pentagram of Farallah. This minds-warping mix-up has been vanquished.

5. Magneto’s Magnetic Moments: Resolved an issue in the post-match where Magneto’s MVP could sometimes display some bizarre, offbeat visuals. The master of magnetism now commands his moments with true polar precision.

6. Wolverine’s Ultimate with Pinpoint Precision: Fixed a snag in Wolverine’s Ultimate Ability where, under high network latency, foes sent flying and slammed into the ground could sometimes end up in the wrong location. Now, every Last Stand lands exactly where it should.

7. Human Torch’s Fiery Focus: Addressed a rare bug where the Human Torch’s Primary Attack would sometimes miss its target entirely, leaving his incendiary prowess a little less scorching. With this fix, every burst of flame burns as brilliantly as intended—ensuring his heat is always on target!

Console

1. Eliminated a bug that sometimes caused the focus to unpredictably shift to earlier messages when opening the chat window.
