McFarlane Toys, the company founded by comic book creator Todd McFarlane, is ready to play havoc with your financial planning once again. As well as turning up to IGN Fan Fest for an exclusive unboxing of the new limited edition Spawn: Black, White & Red All Over statue, it also gave IGN a look at its new upcoming lines Mortal Kombat Klassic and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

“We love the more modern games like MK1 that came out just this past year and Mortal Kombat 11 which we made many figures from including Spawn, but we’ve seen the more nostalgic games resonate with collector fans way more,” says Brian Walters, Director, Brand Creative at McFarlane Toys.

“We didn’t think those character designs had ever been given the proper justice in 22 points of articulation, 3D sculpting, all the production advances that have occurred over the last 30 years that collector and action figures have been made. So we wanted to go back and start from the beginning and go from there.”

The Mortal Kombat Klassic line will be released as single figures and deluxe two packs starting this summer, and Walters says the company hopes to launch four to 12 figures a year.

If your tastes lean more towards the amphibious, there are the 5 inch scale Page Puncher Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures based on the IDW comic book line. Every 5 inch scale figure comes with an IDW TMNT book with that character as its cover star.

“You’re going to have the source material right there,” says Walter.

“Ultra-articulated on par with what we’ve done with DC and Mortal Kombat. There’s going to be great posability and we’ve really honed in on the IDW look which has been established by so many great artists.”
