NAB rolls out self-bookable banking appointments via Zoom

National Australia Bank (NAB) will offer its customers appointments via video call to give them more choice and flexibility.

From March this year, customers will be able to self-book appointments on the company’s website and choose between a secure video call via Zoom or an in-branch meeting.

While video appointments for home lending have been available at NAB and other banks, NAB said this is the first time customers can book an everyday banking appointment remotely.

The bank said the move gives its customers more control and convenience over their banking.

NAB claims it is the first out of the four main banks of Australia, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, to offer video appointments.

The launch of the service follows the rollout of a pilot in December.

NAB said customers are already seeing potential benefits from the service and have expressed that it makes life easier.

Paul Carter, NAB executive for retail banking, said the launch reflects the bank’s commitment to simple and more personal banking.

“We know time is precious, this option gives customers the freedom to book when it suits them – whether they’re at home, at work or on the go,” he added. “So whether you need a new transaction account or advice about setting up an offset account or credit card, we’re now here when it suits you best.”
