Nintendo’s next Direct will take place on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 and will focus on the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has confirmed the broadcast will be roughly 60 minutes long, and IGN will have a live watch-party, along with a live-reaction NVC post-show where fans can tune-in for a deep dive of what is revealed.
How to Watch the Nintendo Direct for April 2025
The upcoming Nintendo Direct will take place on Wednesday, April 2 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST. IGN will be doing a live watch-along party on IGN platforms with our very own Nintendo Voice Chat crew, followed a post-show by a breakdown of everything we learn in the Direct, immediately following the broadcast.

What to Expect From the Nintendo Direct for April 2025
The successor to the Nintendo Switch was announced in January, with a reveal trailer that showed off the new handheld console visually while sharing some details, but did not dive into many specifics. We’re expecting to find out hardware details, including (hopefully) how powerful the Switch 2 will be, what the Joy-Con “C” button is used for, and everything else from screen resolution to what all the ports do on the console.
We’re also hoping to hear about confirmed games for the Nintendo Switch 2, as lists of games that will reportedly be releasing on the console have been circulating. And lastly, we’re hoping for a release date or any preorder news, as last week according to a Best Buy Canada listing, preorders will go live on the same day as the Direct on April 2.
