French video game and accessories maker Nacon has said it expects the Nintendo Switch 2 to launch at some point between April and September 2025.

Nintendo revealed the Switch 2 last week with a brief video that outlined the look of the console and offered a glimpse at Mario Kart 9. Nintendo has so far said the Switch 2 will come out in 2025, but the timing of hands-on events suggest it won’t be before June.

So, if we assume not before June and by the end of September, we’re looking at a narrowed four-month launch window for Nintendo Switch 2.

Nacon, publisher of the likes of Greedfall, Test Drive Unlimited, and RoboCop: Rogue City, issued its latest financial results and in it discussed its expectations for the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year. Listed in this category (the period April to September 2025) is the release of the Switch 2.

From Nacon:

Business levels in the first half of 2025/26 will be supported by several positive factors, including:

  • The contribution of new Gaming and Accessories products that were not launched in 2024/25
  • The Back Catalogue business, which will remain buoyant
  • A busy release schedule comprising around 10 new games, with the main ones due to be revealed during the Nacon Connect event on 6 March
  • The arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, for which Nacon already has compatible games and a full range of accessories.

It’s the Switch 2 we’re most interested in here, and Nacon is the first third-party publisher to come out on the record with not only a release window, but confirmation that it will have video games and accessories ready to go for Nintendo’s next-gen console. So, perhaps we can expect to see the recently released Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, GreedFall 2: The Dying World, and RoboCop: Rogue City ported to Nintendo Switch 2.

Nacon surely won’t be alone in supporting Nintendo’s new console. A number of third-party games are reportedly coming to Switch 2, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Metal Gear Solid Delta, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Nintendo is set to hold a Switch 2 Direct in April (where the hotly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong may make an appearance). We’ll hopefully know more by then.
