Overwatch 2’s Ban System is a Double-Edged Sword
Despite the loyal player base that Overwatch 2 has established, the current ban system is generating some mixed reactions from the community.
Overwatch 2 Season 11 will see Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade swapped out with a “new and improved” Flashbang that will “be sure to slow foes in their tracks.” Exactly how this new Cassidy Flashbang works has yet to be revealed. If it functions exactly as it did before, interrupting abilities and stopping characters in their tracks, it could potentially be overpowered in the 1 Tank set-up, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, Blizzard has confirmed that Season 11 will see some significant changes made to the Colosseo Push map, with the glass removed from everywhere on the map, giving players significantly more freedom when it comes to how they tackle the objective.
Overwatch 2 Colosseo Changes
Alongside these changes, Overwatch 2 will also be making changes to weekly challenges. Blizzard will be giving Overwatch 2 players the chance to catch up challenges they miss before moving on to the new ones. Additionally, completing three weekly challenges will net Overwatch 2 players 20,000 XP. It’s likely that the changes made to Overwatch 2 weekly challenges will be well-received, while the change to Cassidy will likely get mixed reactions. As for the Colosseo changes, fans will have to play the revamped map for themselves before they can draw too many conclusions.
There’s a lot of new content coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 11, but fans may have noticed the lack of Clash. Clash is a new game mode coming to Overwatch 2 that was once expected to debut in Season 11, but Blizzard has made no mention of it. It seems as though Overwatch 2 players will have to wait until Season 12 or even later to play Clash, but Season 11 should still have plenty for them to do in the meantime.
