Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus monthly games for December 2024, and revealed some bonus extras to coincide with the wider PlayStation 30th anniversary celebrations.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony said It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem all launch December 3 for PlayStation Plus members and are available until January 6.
It Takes Two is Hazelight Studios’ co-op platform adventure, and its release into PS Plus is well-timed given the developer has teased the announcement of its next game. IGN’s It Takes Two review returned a 9/10. We said: “It Takes Two is a beautiful, breakneck-paced, co-op adventure that’s bubbling over with creativity.”
Aliens: Dark Descent is Tindalos Interactive’s real-time tactics game set in the Alien universe. IGN’s Aliens: Dark Descent review called it “a fascinating, tense, inspired survival horror RTS with a few too many technical bugs to recommend it without caveats.”
And finally, Temtem is Crema’s creature-collecting MMORPG inspired by the Pokémon series. IGN’s Temtem review called it “a bold but incomplete MMO that has some great ideas for improving upon the monster-catching genre.”
PlayStation Plus monthly games for December 2024:
PlayStation Plus members have until December 2 to add Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Death Note Killer Within to their game libraries.
Meanwhile, Sony’s PlayStation 30th Anniversary celebrations give PlayStation Plus Premium members a game trial of Saber Interactive’s third-person melee / shooter Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 from December 3.
Sony also confirmed three PlayStation classic titles joining PlayStation Plus Premium’s lineup in December. From December 10, members get Sucker Punch’s Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and also Naughty Dog’s PS2 adventure Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Expect more news on the full PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Premium lineups later, Sony said.
And finally, there’s a free online multiplayer weekend set for December 6-8. During those days, you can enjoy online multiplayer for games you own without having a PlayStation Plus membership on PS5 and PS4.
