Rockstar Games has begun teasing the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto 6 with new artwork from Future, Travis Scott, and other artists.
Travis Scott, Future, and Morgan Wallen have all posted zoomed-in pictures of a larger piece of artwork from Grand Theft Auto 6. Scott’s image featured a woman’s heeled feet and was paired with a caption mentioning Rockstar, while Wallen’s was a caption-less image of a pool ladder in Rockstar’s art style. Many assumed that these were all teasing GTA 6 in some capacity, and that was confirmed once Future uploaded a picture of a sports car repping a Leonida license plate. Metro Boomin and Yung Lean also posted the same image as Future on their respective profiles.
Argentine hip hop duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso also posted their own image, which featured a yacht. The same image was shared by Fred Again and an account that claims to be affiliated with PinkPantheress, leading some to speculate that the artists sharing duplicate images are actually collaborating on the same songs together.
Presumably, there will be more of these posts from other artists throughout the day, so we will continue to keep this article updated as more images roll in.
It’s likely that all of these singers will have music in the game, but it’s unclear if they have larger roles as characters in the game or radio hosts. Dr. Dre was prominently featured as a character in GTA Online, Phil Colins was a character in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and a number of comedians like Ricky Gervais have appeared in the flesh in games like GTA 4, so there’s precedent for them to appear as actual characters. Actor Stephen Root also confirmed his long speculated role as Brian Heder in GTA 6 earlier this week, though seemingly through a slip-up rather than a planned reveal.
This appears to be just one part of Rockstar Games’ massive marketing push for GTA 6, which properly kicked off this summer with pre-orders and an extensive gameplay reveal that debuted on Netflix. Rockstar is expected to keep its foot on the gas until launch, which is almost exactly two months away now.
