Scotta integrates AI to boost growth

The Spanish lifestyle menswear brand Scotta has implemented a new AI-powered in-season inventory platform powered as it seeks to improve inventory management and drive growth.

Founded in Seville, Spain, Scotta offers casual clothing with a focus on high-quality material. It currently more than 40 stores in several Spanish cities including Madrid, Seville, and Valencia, alongside its e-commerce presence.

The new AI capabilities, integrated through a partnership with AI-powered merchandise platform Nextail, aim to address inefficiencies related to inventory processes.

The platform offers dynamic stock transfers, moving inventory between stores based on expected demand to maximise sell-through at full price. It also aims to reduce markdowns by reallocating unsold items to high-performing locations, while monitoring sales growth and inventory management across channels.

With the move, the Spanish retailer said it aims to increase sell-through and margins, reduce markdowns and stockouts, and improve strategic collaboration among teams through data-driven insights and automation.

Carlos Serra, chief executive of Scotta, said the partnership will help the company address operational bottlenecks and make stock decisions more accurate.

“As we grow, it will be even more important to continue delivering on our brand promise of offering high-quality products at a fair price with an authentic story,” he added.

The move comes as the wider retail industry increasingly looks to advanced AI and data capture capabilities to boost operational efficiency.

Earlier this month, retailer Sports Emotion announced the rollout of a new AI-driven merchandising platform as the Spanish multi-brand group looks to optimise its in-season inventory and boost operational efficiency.

In June, Walmart renewed its partnership with Scandit, a smart data capture company, to continue enhancing the digital integration of its operations.

As part of the expanded agreement, Walmart will use tools and technology to increase the speed and accuracy of existing employee and customer-facing applications.

 Amazon also recently announced the roll out of three AI-powered technologies designed to enhance parcel packaging, delivery, and supply chain forecasting as part of its efforts to streamline operations and improve customer service.
