Spider-Noir Prime Video Series Gets Marvel Tie-In Comic

It’s not often we see books from Marvel Comics that directly tie into the live-action movies and shows, but Spider-Noir is clearly a special case. IGN can exclusively reveal that Marvel is collaborating with Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios to release a companion comic called Spider-Noir #1.

Spider-Noir #1 serves as a prelude to the upcoming streaming series and an introduction to the world of Nicolas Cage’s Ben Reilly. Just like the show, the comic will be available in both “Authentic Black-and-White” and “True-Hue Full Color” versions.

Check out the slideshow gallery below for an exclusive preview of both versions of Spider-Noir #1:

Spider-Noir #1 is written by Marc Guggenheim, with a story outline by Jay Martin. The comic features artwork by Stefano Raffaele, cover art by Mike Hawthorne, colors by Larry Molinar, and letters by VC’s Joe Sabino.

Spider-Noir #1 is a free standalone issue that will be made available at various Spider-Noir-related activations and events over the coming weeks. First up, fans attending CCXP Mexico this weekend will be able to pick up copies at the Prime Video activation.

This is the latest example of a growing trend of Marvel releasing new comics that directly connect to the various shows and movies. Last year, the publisher released a The Fantastic Four: First Steps prologue just ahead of the movie, and has since followed up that issue with several other FF tie-ins. They’re also set to expand the world of X-Men ’97 in June with the release of X-Men ’97: Season Two, which bridges the gap between seasons of the animated series.
