Star Wars and Indiana Jones legend Harrison Ford has said he’s listened to the soundtracks from some of his classic films while getting busy in the bedroom.
Ford, 83, made the revelation this week while appearing as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, in which the veteran actor put in a typically laconic yet wry showing.
During a series of discussion questions that Ford effectively declined to answer, Kimmel abruptly asked Ford about his love-making music choices. Did he listen to his own movie soundtracks while, er, getting the ball rolling? It took Ford several seconds to respond, before he succintly replied: “Of course.”
Ford fielded the question after being shown a clip of him leaping onto the set of Shrinking, his Apple TV streaming series that he co-stars in alongside How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel, while humming the iconic Indiana Jones theme tune. Ford did not confirm (or deny) if this was the soundtrack he had also used for any off-duty activities.
Another highlight from Ford’s chat show appearance was his recollection of seeing Segel’s infamous nude scene in big screen comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which prompted him to send Segal a short two-word message of appreciation: “Nice penis.”
Now airing its third season, Shrinking features Ford and Segel as therapists who work together while the former deals with the loss of his wife, while the latter experiences the effects of Parkinson’s Disease. The most recent season also features Back to the Future star and Parkinson’s research advocate Michael J. Fox in a guest role.
All of which begs the question: which soundtracks has Ford been listening to? Has he stuck with John Williams’ classic Indiana Jones and Star Wars tunes, or gone for something more appropriately named from his movie back catalog? The Call of the Wild, maybe. Frantic? Morning Glory? What Lies Beneath? And while it’s a TV series and not a movie, perhaps it’s best to avoid Shrinking all around.
