Marvel Studios has released the debut trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, providing fans with their first look at what’s sure to be one of the biggest superhero films of 2025.

The trailer offers a look at Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing as well as a glimpse at supervillain Galactus. Kicking off with dinner at the Baxter Building, the trailer provides our best look yet at The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ 1960s retro futuristic setting, as well as a tease for what looks like an upcoming battle in New York.

We see Ben Grimm before and after he becomes The Thing, alongside The Fantastic Four’s Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics a.k.a. H.E.R.B.I.E. They both seem keen on cooking.

Elsewhere, we see Sue Storm briefly in action as Invisible Woman, and Johnny Storm flying about in Human Torch form. We do not see Reed Richards doing stretchy Mr. Fantastic things, however.

And it’s worth pointing out the glimpse at John Malkovich, who is rumored to be playing Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost.

Marvel launched the first official trailer at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach shook hands with excited fans.

The upcoming MCU movie, due out July 25, 2025, also stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer. Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles are also in the movie. The director is Matt Shakman and the producer is of course Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps – Trailer 1 Stills

Here’s the official The Fantastic Four: First Steps synopsis:

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

Fans are speculating that Robert Downey, Jr. will return to the MCU as iconic Marvel villain Doctor Doom at some point in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, or at least be teased in some way. Feige has confirmed that the Fantastic Four will appear in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
