IGN can exclusively reveal that Akira Himekawa, the celebrated manga duo behind The Legend of Zelda manga, will make a special appearance at New York Comic Con to participate in a VIZ Industry Panel to discuss their latest mythic adventure, Kamudo, and to hold multiple signings throughout the weekend.

NYCC 2025 will take place October 9 – 15, and you can see everywhere you can find Akira Himekawa below;

  • Friday, October 10: 11:15am ET – 1:15pm ET | NYCC Signing, Hall 1A, Author Autographing
  • Friday, October 10: 5:00pm ET – 7:00pm ET | Kinokuniya Signing, 1073 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10018
  • Saturday, October 11: 11:15am ET – 1:15pm ET | NYCC Signing, Hall 1A, Author Autographing
  • Sunday, October 12: 2:00pm ET – 3:00pm ET | VIZ Industry NYCC Panel (Room 409)

Kamudo began in 2024 and its first Volume just released on October 7. If you want to catch up, you can read parts of the manga for free on Viz.com or read the official description below.

“In the utopian nation of Ryujinkyo, Kamuna—a boy born with the form of a human and the left hand of a dragon—grapples with his identity in a society that both questions and fears his existence,” the official description reads. “As he begins his training in the ancient art of ryuken, his determination to prove himself fuels a growing rivalry with the fierce demi-dragon Gindu. Meanwhile, tensions simmer beneath the surface as factions outside Ryujinkyo grow restless, seeking to control the divine pulse that sustains the land…”

As for Akira Himekawa, the artists have worked together since 1991 and, as we mentioned, were the forces behind the very successful manga series based on The Legend of Zelda games, including Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, A Link to the Past, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and more.
