Tom Holland Says Spider-Man 5 Unclear, Teases When Miles Morales Will Join the MCU

Tom Holland Says Spider-Man 5 Unclear, Teases When Miles Morales Will Join the MCU

Details regarding Spider-Man 5 are “unclear,” according to Tom Holland, but the longtime Peter Parker actor has at least confirmed he knows when Miles Morales will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The infamously leak-prone actor let a few details slip when promoting his new film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Although he was able to keep most of his cards to his chest, he couldn’t help but bring up the topic on millions of Marvel fans’ minds: Miles Morales.

Holland immediately turned the conversation toward the fan-favorite Web-Slinger when asked, as a Spider-Man fan, what questions he had on his mind during an interview with 1Live. Was he willing to share a concrete answer regarding when Miles Morales will join the MCU? Well, no, but it sounds like things are moving quickly at Marvel.

“What would be the first question?” Holland pondered. “I guess it would be, ‘When will we get Miles Morales?’ would be the question I would ask – because I know the answer.”

When asked to elaborate by the interviewer, Holland said with a smile, “I’m asking the questions. I’m not answering them.”

The Spider-Man character has slipped past the MCU thus far, with Sony mostly keeping him locked away to the still-beloved Spider-Verse movies when it comes to his presence in feature films for the last decade. Holland said he had been working to bring Miles Morales into the MCU in June, and a few weeks ago, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige teased that the character likely wouldn’t join his cinematic universe until sometime after the Spider-Verse saga ended.

It sounds Marvel has at least enough of a plan to share with its current Spidey star when it comes to bringing live-action Miles Morales to life, but does that mean plans for Spider-Man 5 have been ironed out? Not exactly.

Both Holland, as well as his partner and Spider-Man: Brand New Day co-star, Zendaya, spoke about the future as part of a video with Serieously that was published two days before the film’s July 31 premiere. Here, the question was a bit more direct, asking Holland if he would come back for a fifth Spider-Man movie should the opportunity arise. Holland said “we would love to” while refraining from getting too into detail.

“What is on the cards is a little unclear right now, but I’m sure that, whatever happens with Spider-Man, it’ll be very bright and lovely.”

Zendaya chimed in: “It’ll be great no matter what. We’ll be sure of it.”

Spider-Man 5 has not been announced by Marvel Studios or Sony, but it would be a shock to see the story stop with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is currently wrapping up a record–breaking opening weekend in theaters after it brought in an estimated $927 million worldwide. Should a fifth film deliver the right story and cast, it’s easy to see a path where the classic comic book character continues to rake in impressive numbers.

For now, audiences are probably happy with the film they have now, rather than a new one, which could be many, many years away. IGN gave the latest MCU picture a 7/10 review. Next up for the MCU is Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to premiere December 18, 2026. For more, you can read about what Feige had to say about the chances of Peter Parker meeting Venom in the MCU.
