Turtle Beach Has a New Victrix Pro Controller for PS5 and Xbox

Turtle Beach has announced the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded, an updated – and slightly pricier – version of the Victrix Pro BFG modular pro-style controller. This new version features a redesigned fighting game module that the company says has been “ergonomically optimized” for resting your wrist on the grip if you prefer to play with your fingers, arcade-style.

You’re probably still better off with one of IGN’s best fight stick picks, but it’s nice to have options and this isn’t a bad one. The original Pro BFG is already one of the best PS5 controllers around thanks to its heavy customization options, and it sounds like that’s continuing here. Like that controller, the BFG Reloaded’s swappable components include a reversible thumbstick and d-pad and custom options for both thumbsticks and thumb caps. It’s got drift-resistant Hall effect analog sticks, too. The rear triggers, also Hall effect sensor-equipped, feature customizable sensitivity, and there are four mappable back buttons.

The BFG Reloaded is available in two colors – black and white – as well as versions specific to either the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One or PS5 and PS4. Both models are Windows-compatible. The company says they’ll get up to 20 hours on a full charge, and have a 30ft wireless range. They also come with a 3-meter braided USB-C cable if you’d rather wire it up. Each has a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well.

The Pro BFG was missing a couple of things – haptics and adaptive triggers. Unfortunately, Turtle Beach doesn’t mention either in its press materials, so it sounds like both are still out this time around. That’s a shame, as the Pro BFG Reloaded is nearly as expensive as the haptic-equipped Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra, its cousin that made both our best Xbox controllers and best PC controllers lists.

The Pro BFG Reloaded is available to preorder at $209.99 – up from $199.99 for the standard Pro BFG – when it goes up for sale in North America starting on September 28th. Gamers in the UK (£179.99) and EU (€199.99) can buy it today.
