Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Dungeons of Hinterberg are now available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to pre-load on Xbox and PC. 2024 has already seen several high-profile games land on Xbox Game Pass, with The Callisto Protocol and Octopath Traveler 2 headlining the service’s June lineup. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Diablo 4, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also landed in the hands of Game Pass subscribers earlier this year.
First revealed during last year’s Summer Game Fest, Dungeons of Hinterberg is an indie adventure game with a stunning cell-shaded art style. Part social sim and part action RPG, Dungeons of Hinterberg will test players with an assortment of puzzles when it comes to Xbox Game Pass as a day one release on July 18. Also launching on the same day is Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, a Soulslike action game from the makers of 2018’s Ashen. After being delayed out of 2023, Flintlock was shown in detail during Xbox’s recent games showcase, revealing its imminent release date and giving gamers another exciting look at its intense combat and high-flying gameplay.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn’s combat is engineered like a Soulslike game in many ways, but it’s also designed to be much more approachable.
On Twitter, Xbox insider Klobrille revealed that both Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Dungeons of Hinterberg are now available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to pre-load ahead of their July 18 releases. The user also let Game Pass subscribers know the approximate file sizes of each game, with Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn weighing in at a relatively small 17 GB and Dungeons of Hinterberg taking up only around eight GB of space.

While July 18 will be a big day for Game Pass subscribers, there’s still more in store for Xbox fans this month. Capcom’s genre-mashing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is looking to launch as a day-one release on Game Pass on July 19. As of now, Creatures of Ava and Sopa are the only two games slated to come to the service in August, though more information about future Xbox Game Pass releases will likely appear in mid-July to further detail the August lineup.
Looking beyond the summer months, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have a lot to look forward to, with STALKER 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 all confirmed to be hitting the service this Fall. Until then, subscribers who are fans of Soulslike action and indie puzzle adventure games will be busy during the latter half of July.
