British online retailer Very has launched a new cloud technology-powered hub for blog-style content to change how its customers shop its beauty category.

The Beauty Inspiration Hub has been build using Very’s in-house cloud-based system Skyscape.

Very said that Skyscape is the “biggest technology transformation” it has ever taken on, with its development involving the complete re-platforming of all the technology related to the customer experience.

The Beauty inspiration hub is the company’s latest element of Skyscape to be rolled out, with it expected to be fully complete this summer.

Very added that the hub has been built with responsive, reusable and fully accessible components from The Very Group’s Fuse design system, which are served and updated via its brand new Amplience content management system.

Through blog style content, expert tips and trend spotlighting, Very said that customers will be able to make more informed purchases, with the move aiming to replicate the in-store experience in the digital space.

Earlier this year, Very launched Beauty Studio, which allows customers to shop by trend ingredient and brand.

Very said the feature makes it easier for customers to shop and find what they are looking for.
Over the past two years, Very said it has focused on expanding and diversifying its beauty category to offer customers a greater range of brands and products.

Using this strategy, the retailer said it has seen a 6.3 per cent growth in the beauty category over the past six months compared to the previous year. Around one in seven fashion customers shop Very’s beauty range, according to the company.

“Our innovative new beauty hub housed on Skyscape will allow us to give them inspirational and educational content in a convenient and easy way,” said Sam Wright, chief commercial & strategy officer. This means customers can shop with greater confidence and more readily find the products they love.”
