Vivo X Fold 5 Specifications Teased

Vivo has shared official images on Weibo revealing the design and specifications of the Vivo X Fold 5. It is confirmed to come with a 6,000mAh battery, which could make it the first foldable to offer such a high capacity cell. For reference, the Vivo X Fold 3 came with a 5,500mAh battery and 80W wired charging support. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumoured to feature a 4,400mAh battery.

The company states that it has used the industry’s first fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode technology with up to 12 percent silicon content on the Vivo X Fold 5. It is claimed to be the industry’s first second-generation semi-solid-state battery, which can provide power even at -30°C. The handset is claimed to meet IPX8 + IPX9 + IPX9+ rating for water resistance and offer an IP5X-rated dustproof rating.

Further, the Vivo X Fold 5 is claimed to be stronger, lighter and thinner than the Vivo X Fold 3. The teasers show the handset in Quingsong (white), Baibai (green) and Titanium (black) colour options with a Zeiss-branded triple rear camera unit. The camera setup will include a Zeiss periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It is said to function even at minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, Vivo is accepting pre-orders for the Vivo X Fold 5 in China via the Vivo online store and e-commerce websites.

Vivo X Fold 5 will launch in China on June 25 at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). It will boast 8T LTPO panels with 4,500 nits local peak brightness and high-frequency PWM dimming on both inner and outer screens. The foldable is also confirmed to be compatible with Apple Watch.
