Nintendo has finally revealed the Switch 2, its next-gen console due out at some point in 2025.

While the reveal video confirms the high-profile leaks, it leaves a number of burning questions unanswered. Top of mind is, what does that mysterious button on the right Joy-Con do?

This new square button, placed at the bottom of the Joy-Con, is unmarked, but prior reports have indicated it’s called the “C” button.

There’s a great deal of speculation about this button. Some suggest it may relate to “casting” the Switch 2 to a TV wirelessly, or screen sharing of some kind. Others have wondered whether it’s the button to press in order to change the Joy-Con’s functionality, for example into mouse mode. There’s also speculation that the button may relate to new group or voice chat functionality.

What does that square button at the bottom of the right Joy-Con do?

Nintendo has announced a Switch 2 Direct for April 2, so hopefully we’ll find out more then. Until then, here’s what we know for sure:
