Wednesday Smashes More Records As Season 2 Hits 50 Million Views

Wednesday is finally back for season 2 — and breaking records once again.

The Netflix series, which just premiered the first half of its second season on August 6, has acquired a whopping 50 million views for the first four days on the platform, according to the streamer. Despite being a pretty insane number for the first four episodes of season 2, it is still just under season 1, which garnered 50.1 million views… for the whole season.

The first season of the beloved Addams Family spinoff series continues to be Netflix’s No. 1 English-language TV series ever, but the second season now officially holds the second spot for that accolade. Season 2 has also been at the top of the streaming charts since its premiere, with it ranking first in 91 countries. As a result, the show has set a new record as the English-language TV show to rank first in the most countries in its first week.

Wednesday first premiered in November 2022 and was a smash hit on arrival. Helmed by a great lead performance by Jenna Ortega, the first season went on to receive four Emmy awards and was even nominated for two Golden Globes. Season 2 was announced in January 2023 and it’s been quite the wait since, but fans seem to be enjoying what has finally come their way.

The second half of season 2, which consists of four more episodes, will premiere on Netflix on September 3. But until then, fans have a lot to dive into — and a lot to get excited about, with a third season already confirmed.

“Wednesday continues to be passably entertaining mainly thanks to its visuals and its casting, particularly Jenna Ortega in the central role,” IGN wrote in our Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 review, which returned a 6/10 score.
