The best deal on any action cam right now is the GoPro Max 2 (7/10 WIRED Recommends), WIRED reviewer Scott Gilbertson’s favorite 360 camera there is. Dual 14-mm (35-mm equivalent) lenses yield what GoPro calls “True 8K” (10-bit) video. Footage is sharp. 10-bit color recording in log means you get a lot of flexibility during post-production color grading (or you can just go with default natural color, which is also the best on any cam Gilbertson has tested.)
Audio’s not great unless you pair a mic on Bluetooth, and night vision is meh. But no one’s jealous of how you sound at night. They’re jealous of you off-roading by the lake, in bright sun, in the summer. Looks vivid, bro.
